Venus Williams, a former World No. 1, is well-known in the tennis community and among her colleagues for having won several tournaments. Serena Williams and Venus Williams have long been recognized as two of tennis’ greatest players. After Serena Williams made her retirement announcement, the 2022 US Open will come to a close. She mentioned family obligations as the explanation for quitting tennis. But what about Venus Williams? The older sister of Serena.
The answer to the forever-asked question, “Is Venus Williams Married?” is a resounding NO. In fact, Venus Williams has never been married and has never had children, despite having a very prominent profile. The legendary tennis player, 43, was born on June 17, 1980, and has remained a powerhouse in athletics despite leading a very modest life.
Venus Williams has topped the singles and doubles rankings at different times. Venus Williams, who has won seven singles Grand Slam championships (two at the US Open and five at Wimbledon), has kept most of her personal matters private. Unlike Serena, who is married to Alexis Ohanian and has a daughter with him.
When asked about her views on marriage, Williams responded “Many of my friends don’t believe me when I tell you that I like my life and don’t want to alter it for any reason. They don’t believe me when I say I’m not desperate.” Such statements as “You’re going to miss your window” are common. “Please relax, I say. I may not feel this way, but you could. I promise you I don’t”
A Look into Venus Williams’ dating history
As previously mentioned, Venus Williams has dated a number of well-known people but has never been married. In 2012, the 42-year-old began dating Cuban model Elios Pis. Elios Pis was a model for her clothes brand when she first met him. Prior to their separation in 2017, they dated until 2015. It’s still not apparent why they broke up. Following her protracted engagement with Pis, Williams dated investor and publishing tycoon Nicholas Hammond. In 2017, they started dating, however, they broke up in 2019.
She addressed several fans’ demands to date her during an April 2021 Instagram Live Q&A. “I’ve been invited out on dates by many people. She said at the time, “I’m just not, I would say, undateable,” according to a story by Essentially Sports. Venus said, “That’s OK, I’m happy.”
She continued by stating that she receives “a lot of questions asking if I am married, am getting married, or if I will marry,” before firmly dismissing them. Then, she said, “The answer to every one of them is NO.” Venus has achieved the highest level of success in her tennis career, yet she is childless. She has said she is open to the possibility of being a mother, but she has also said she is not actively seeking it. Fans are still curious about how she feels about parenting.
With that being said, it appears that Venus Williams prefers to spend her leisure time with her friends and loved ones rather than getting married or starting a family anytime soon. Venus Williams’ long-running tennis career has put her in the public eye, yet she prefers to keep her personal life private.
