At the Canadian Open, Venus Williams was unable to defeat 2016 finalist Madison Keys. The 42-year-old was defeated 6-2, 7-5 against her fellow countrywoman to lose the match. But Williams didn’t give up without a fight. The seasoned player survived eight match points throughout the one-hour and 52-minute contest. Finally, Keys won on her ninth attempt to inflict the five-time Wimbledon winner her sixth defeat of the year.
Venus Williams also criticized American Airlines on social media. She said she misplaced her bags on the airline’s flight to Montreal. Her belongings went missing and ended up in the Bahamas. “Dear American Airlines, I like traveling with all of you. Even the million-mile club includes me!” She complained on her Instagram story, “I don’t know why you shipped my things to the Bahamas when I was going to Montreal.”
Williams continued to be frustrated by mentioning that she still had to play Madison Keys in a match. She stated that while three days had passed since the error, nothing had been done. “I have a match today, so now. For the past three days, I’ve been attempting to collect my baggage. Calling you all has become my full-time job, day and night, and I believe I have used up all of my unused minutes. This is very enjoyable.” Williams wrote, sarcastically.
Despite the chaotic travel incident and her loss to Madison Keys, fans were in awe of her on-court look.
